23 Dollar Adventure!
November 21, 2009
Lately my cash flow has been tight ...... not urban-dictionary-tight, but bad-tight. I've been doing okay, surviving by sticking to water with lemon, fries, and a side of whatever I can swipe off my friends' plates when I go out.
But last night I spent 23 dollars during an adventure that led me to the epitome of quaint, a dimly lit bar called Diamond Jim's. Its the kind of place where guys mix beer with their repressed creativity and punch holes in the bathroom wall....literally. I was doin' a pretty good job of saving money until I saw my brand new buddy Vanessa, whose 21st birthday we were kickin off, buying her own beer at the bar. Not Cool! So I bought us a round of the most expensive alcohol I've ever drank out of a plastic cup and followed that with a beer.
On the ride home, I felt a few seconds of regret over how much money I spent, then, I remembered how much fun I had and that I made a bunch of new friends. I didn't regret it anymore.......I hate to be so Hallmark, but you really can't put a price on meeting new friends, and if you could it'd be a helluva lot more than 23 bucks.
